BG Engine Flush
Keeping Your Engine Clean
Keeping Your Engine Clean
Q) What is Engine Flushing? When is it done and at what interval?
A) We know that once the engine is run over a period of time there are a lot of deposits (sludge) that get accumulated in the piston ring belt, hydraulic lifters, rocker arms and other critical engine parts. These deposits must be removed to restore the power and performance of an engine and prolong the life. Engine Flushing is the complete removal of these deposits along with the used engine oil during an oil change.
BG Quick Clean for Engines is the chemistry used for the engine flushing. Engine flushing is done at the time of servicing (before replacing the engine oil) and is recommended at every alternate servicing (10,000Kms interval).
Q) Isn’t regular draining of the engine oil sufficient for removing the sludge? Why is flushing required?
A) If you have ever seen your vehicle being serviced, you must have noticed that the method for replacing the engine oil is by opening the drain plug and leaving it for a while then replacing it with new oil. Well, this is the conventional method and has been followed over the years but the recent research shows that this is not the best method for the engines. When we manually drain the oil because of the viscous nature, only 75%-80% of the oil is drained and the remaining 20% of the used oil remains in the engine at various parts. Now when we replace with the new oil the remains of the used oil degrades the quality and brings down the life of the new oil. The vehicle owner not being aware of this continues to run the vehicle for the same interval as prescribed by the manufacturer. This process continues and by the time the vehicle is slightly old it starts exhibiting problems of various degrees.
The solution to this is using BG Quick Clean for Engine (Part No: 105) before draining the oil as directed by the BG Professional. This will reduce the viscosity of the used oil and sludge significantly and make it free flowing like the water. So now when the used oil is drained, complete draining takes place cleaning the engine.
This is the difference which has been adopted world-wide to the conventional method of engine oil replacement for better performance.
